Working with QGIS

SocScape - mapping residential segregation and racial diversity

SocScape resources can be downloaded as GeoTiff and ESRI Shapefiles for further use in GIS software. We recommended using QGIS - a free, user-friendly Open Source Geographic Information System (GIS) software available on Windows, Mac OSX, Linux. QGIS can be downloaded from http://qgis.org/en/site/forusers/download.html

We provide two manuals describing how to work with our resources in QGIS:

  • Working with demographic grids in QGIS. [DOWNLOAD]
  • Working with racial dot maps in QGIS. [DOWNLOAD]
